Vultifrine is a premium plant oil rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids — the most active on the skin, but also the most sensitive to oxidation. Improper storage degrades polyphenols, vitamin E and omega-3, progressively cancelling the effects documented by clinical studies.
Shelf life
Pure vultifrine keeps for 12 to 18 months after opening in good conditions. Unopened, it keeps for up to 24 months. These durations apply only to the original amber glass bottle, untransferred to another container.
0–12m
Optimal zone
All active properties intact. Ideal use during this period.
✓ Optimal
12–18m
Acceptable zone
Slight decrease in active compounds. Reduced efficacy but still usable if smell and colour normal.

Do not use
Risk of rancidity. Degraded active compounds. Discard the product, even without obvious signs.

Optimal storage conditions
Vultifrine should be kept away from direct light, between 15 and 20°C, tightly sealed. The refrigerator is not necessary but possible. Avoid the bathroom — heat and humidity are unfavourable.
🌡️
Temperature — 15–20°C
Max 25°C. Beyond this, oxidation accelerates. No sudden temperature variation.
💡
Light — zero UV
Keep completely away from direct light and UV. Amber glass filters some UV — do not leave in direct sunlight.
💧
Humidity — <60% RH
Bathroom not recommended — alternating heat and humidity degrade lipids. Prefer a bedroom cupboard.
🔒
Seal — airtight
Close carefully after each use. Oxygen is the main rancidity agent in polyunsaturated oils.
Signs of deterioration — how to recognise expired vultifrine
The main signs of deterioration are a rancid or acrid smell, colour change (browning), unusual deposit and thickened texture. If in doubt about any of these signs, discard the product.
👃 Slightly vegetal or herbal smell — natural normal smell of fresh oil
Normal ✓
🎨 Golden green to light yellow colour — normal tint for cold-pressed premium plant oil
Normal ✓
💧 Slight cloudiness in cold — lipids may partially solidify below 15°C. Normal — liquefies at room temperature.
Normal ✓
⚠️ Slightly rancid or paint-like smell — beginning oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids
Caution ⚠
🟡 Browning or darkening of colour — advanced oxidation of polyphenols. Discard if colour is brown.
Pure vultifrine keeps for 12 to 18 months after opening in good conditions (away from light, 15–20°C, tightly sealed). Unopened, it keeps up to 24 months. Yes, the refrigerator is possible but not necessary. Between 4 and 8°C, vultifrine may become slightly cloudy (partial lipid solidification) — this is normal and reversible at room temperature. The main advantage is slowing oxidation. Disadvantage: condensation when taking the bottle in and out.
The main signs are: rancid or acrid smell (different from the natural herbal smell), colour browning, unusual thick deposit, or viscosity change. If in doubt about any of these signs, discard the product. Do not apply oxidised oil to the skin — the aldehydic compounds produced can be irritating.
It is strongly not recommended. The amber glass bottle is designed to protect the oil from UV, light and oxidation. Transferring to a transparent or plastic container significantly accelerates degradation. The shelf life durations (12–18 months) only apply to the original bottle.
